Come and see our Cortex-M7 support at EmbeddedWorld2015!

There are two buzzwords that seem to occupy media more than others in the past few months; quite obviously Internet of Things (or IoT) but to an increasing extent also the new Cortex-M7 microcontroller core from ARM Ltd.

The Cortex-M7 processor is the most recent member of the ARM Cortex-M core family, offering very high performance for embedded applications, and with a lot better backwards compatibility with other Cortex-M cores compared to the also high-performance Cortex-R signal processing cores and Cortex-A application processors. For example, Cortex-M7 is 100% binary compatible (in terms of executing machine code instructions) with existing Cortex-M processors.

Warming up for the EmbeddedWorld 2015 exhibition

I am a big fan of the EmbeddedWorld exhibition on Nuremberg, Germany. It is by far the largest embedded exhibition in the industry, and nowhere else will you find such a large event for embedded development. For example, in 2014 there were over 25.000 visitors and almost 900 exhibitors, including most microcontroller vendors, embedded C/C++ compiler and debugger IDE tool vendors, RTOS suppliers, etc.

This year, EmbeddedWorld 2015 will be held during 24-26 of February, as always in the medieval city of Nuremberg in Bavaria. This provides a fantastic opportunity to try out some of the local Franconian dishes in the old town, as well as German sausages, pork knuckle and the local beer, “Pils”. If you haven’t visited the old town in Nuremberg, you really should make sure to see it while visiting EmbeddedWorld 2015!
